Description
This large 2.5m x 2.5m owl was designed for Alamanda College in Point Cook
The school caters for prep to high school aged children and the owl is their representative bird.
The shape and form of the owl was important in the design as it needed to have motion yet be a fixed structure.
To represent the children about to take off and enter the big wild world.
This owl had a smaller model made that lives down at ground level as the actual large owl is 6metres up on a stand so no child can climb or get clipped by a wing.
Mild steel, recycled hot water cylinders, brass, copper, enamel paint with the school colours splashed under the wings and completely sealed with a marine grade 2 pac.
